How the offer works
Turn retired enterprise network hardware into a clearly scoped offer. Send exact models, modules and ownership details, including anything that needs configuration or media handling.
Start with an inventory or photos. Review a written scope showing the purchase amount, any project charges and the net payment or fee. Approved transfer is followed by verification and payment under the agreed terms; material changes require your approval. Media responsibilities must be settled before transfer, including embedded storage when relevant.
Count the modules and optics
Chassis, line cards, transceivers and power supplies can change the scope. List included parts rather than relying on the chassis name.
Ownership and restrictions
Disclose known licensing or management restrictions. Transfer eligibility must be reviewed before the offer assumes usable hardware.
No drive does not mean no data
Stored configuration and embedded media need screening. Never include credentials in submission files.
Settlement stays clear
The quote separates purchase amount and agreed charges. Verification differences need approval; payment follows the accepted verification terms.
Equipment and acceptance
Enterprise switches, routers, firewalls and associated modules or optics are evaluated by model, configuration, condition and ownership. Identify complete systems separately from loose accessories.
Disclose licensing, account registration, management locks and transfer restrictions where relevant. Hardware possession does not by itself establish that software entitlements can transfer.
Network devices may retain configurations, credentials or embedded storage even without removable drives. Agree authorized handling before transfer; unknown data status is not cleared status.
How to identify your equipment
Photo example: take a readable model/part-label image and front/rear views showing port layout, power supplies and installed modules. Include separate labels for optics or expansion modules.
If providing a hardware inventory export, remove credentials, configuration contents and customer identifiers. Do not upload a full running configuration or passwords to request an offer.
What to send
Provide manufacturer/model, device type, quantity, installed modules/optics, power supplies and test state. Separate faults and missing accessories.
State ownership authority, known licenses/locks, configuration or embedded-media status, location and timing. Unknown details should be marked unknown for qualification.
Can switches contain sensitive information?
Yes. Configuration, credentials and embedded storage can be relevant even when a unit has no removable hard drive. Identify the device and agree the data-handling route before transfer.
Should I include optics and modules?
List them by exact part number and quantity, identifying what is installed and what is loose. Their condition and compatibility are evaluated with the scope.
Does a hardware sale include the licenses?
Do not assume it does. Disclose the known license, account and transfer restrictions so they can be reviewed separately from ownership of the equipment.
Can I send the running configuration for identification?
Do not upload configurations or credentials. Send model labels and a hardware-only inventory with sensitive information removed.
What if a device is locked or untested?
Disclose the status. It may require additional information, a restricted scope or exclusion; a familiar brand does not guarantee acceptance.
