How the offer works
Request an offer for enterprise storage systems or loose media. Send platform and drive details together with the media-handling status so value, responsibilities and any processing charges are clear.
Start with an inventory or photos. Review a written scope showing the purchase amount, any project charges and the net payment or fee. Approved transfer is followed by verification and payment under the agreed terms; material changes require your approval. Media responsibilities must be settled before transfer, including embedded storage when relevant.
Systems and drives separately
Identify arrays, shelves, controllers and loose media. A chassis description does not establish which drives or licenses are included.
Health is condition evidence
Report actual test or health information without inventing it. Good health does not mean stored information has been sanitized.
Confirm the media route
Custody and authorized processing need agreement before transfer. Partner certification, when verified, does not certify Greyhound.
Charges before acceptance
The written offer separates asset purchase value from processing or logistics charges. Payment follows verification and approved material adjustments.
Equipment and acceptance
Enterprise arrays, shelves, controllers, HDDs, SSDs and associated caddies are evaluated by exact model, configuration, condition and available reuse or processing route.
Keep systems, empty shelves and loose drives distinct. Interface, capacity, installed controllers, power supplies and accessories affect the offer; media is never presumed interchangeable from size alone.
Before transfer, agree customer-retained media, verified prior sanitization with device-level evidence, or qualified partner processing. Greyhound does not claim in-house erasure or certified destruction; exclude media when no supported route exists.
How to identify your equipment
Photo example: photograph the system model label, front/rear views and controller labels. For drives, photograph a readable label from each distinct part-number group and show the caddy when included.
Add available hardware-only health/testing information, tied to the correct devices, with sensitive fields removed. Health data can inform condition; it does not prove sanitization.
What to send
List platform and component models, media model/interface/capacity, quantities, caddies, controller/PSU configuration and actual health/test information available.
State whether media is retained, previously sanitized with evidence, or needs a processing option. Mark unknown status explicitly and include location, packing and timing constraints.
Can I keep the drives and sell the chassis?
A drive-free system can be evaluated. Identify all removed parts and any embedded storage remaining in controllers or appliances before scope approval.
Does a healthy drive count as sanitized?
No. Health or performance information describes condition, not removal of stored information. Sanitization status needs separate device-level evidence and verification.
What if a drive cannot be read?
Treat its data status as unknown and disclose the fault. A qualified processing route must be agreed; failure to read a drive does not make it safe to resell.
Do you provide in-house erasure or certified destruction?
In-house erasure and certified destruction are not currently available from Greyhound. Agree customer-retained media, verified prior sanitization or a qualified partner option before transfer; acceptance depends on the supported route.
Can storage processing make a project a net fee?
Yes. Processing and logistics may exceed recoverable asset value. The written scope shows any agreed charges and net payment or fee before transfer.
